- This type of overspeed governor is two-directional
- It has two types, XS16 and XS16I
- Shaft of XS16 is non rotation
- Shaft of XS16I is rotated, and can be installed with coder
- Down direction braking is performed by rope brake and conventional down direction safety gear
- Up braking is performed by the solenoid remote controlled rope brake which provides overspeed protection for ascending car
- Solenoid remote control rope brake can be used to provide ascending car overspeed protection
- Working principle of which is when the up running lift car reaches the tripping speed, the contact switch 1 of the governor is turned on to cut off the power supply to the traction machine which will thus come to a stop
- In case the car should accelerate for some reasons to the up tripping speed of the governor,the contact switch 2 will be turned on (namely power supply is cut off), and at the same time the solenoid is activated to bring the rope brake into action to stop the running car
- When the down running car comes over the rated speed and reaches tripping speed, the switch 1 is turned on to cut off the power to the traction machine which will come to a stop
- In case the car should accelerate to the down tripping speed, the governor will be activated and bring the safety gear into action to stop the car and hold it still there
